Pet urine and carpet – it’s not a good mix.

Monday, October 29th, 2012

There is probably not a week that goes by without us being asked if we can restore rug or household carpet that has been affected by pet urine (or wee for the plain speakers amongst us).    It’s a horribly stinky problem – and one it can be really hard to get rid of.

In our experience the best way to try and deal with it yourself is with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner – as the urine really needs to be fully flushed out.  But even this is only effective with small weak urine stains.  You also need to keep in mind that it’s not good to leave carpet  soaking wet for any length of time.   This really is a job for a professional.

Our removal method uses a specialised water claw which allows us to soak the urine stain with our urine removal product,  eliminating the odour and germs, and then pull it straight back out under high pressure – leaving the carpet/rug only damp.   This process is repeated until the odour is completely gone.

The process works especially well with rugs, which we can pick up and deliver right back to your door.  When it comes to badly affected carpets it can sometimes be necessary to remove the carpet and treat both it and the underlay.  Usually it’s best to organise and inspection so we can advice the best way to proceed.

Get Your Carpets Cleaned while the sun shines

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

As the beautiful Ballarat Autumn weather settles upon us it’s a great time to think about getting those carpets freshened up before the long winter months hit.   While you can still clean carpets in winter (and we have generally have some good value winter specials) it’s always nice to know they’re done while the warmth of the sun ensures super fast drying times.

TODAYS TIP:  If you are unfortunate enough to get blood spills on your clean them asap with cold water.  If you’re not successful in getting it all out call Nick on 0409 589 783 – he’s done some great work removing blood stains in the past.
